We are pleased to announce that Active Website was invited to present at the Worldwide ERC National Relocation Conference in Seattle, WA. John Sable, Managing Partner at Active Website, will be giving his presentation today at 10:45am PST during the session entitled, Managing Your Online Image Through Social Media.

The 90 minute session aims to equip real estate and relocation professionals around the country with the knowledge needed to establish an online presence and increase their digital footprint through social media. As we all know, the internet is evolving the way we do business. By exploring new social media tools and using them efficiently, the session will provide insight for creating an effective social media strategy.

Prior to this event, the Active Website team asked a group of 13 individuals to implement a multi-tiered social media plan involving Facebook, LinkedIn, Yelp and blogging strategies in order to test our hypothesis: implementing a well thought out social media plan can increase our digital footprint and personal brand. Through this test group, we hoped to discover effective ways for managing our online image while creating a content distribution plan to increase our page one rankings on Google.

By closely monitoring and tracking our participants’ involvement in the social media strategy, we were able to see an increase in page rank over the 13 week period. And while participation amongst the group varied, we were happy to see impressive results. At the end of the study, the group received a 22% increase in visibility on page one of Google, collectively.

During the session, John will present the details of this study, our methodology for tracking the progress and what we learned. To aid in the discussion, a panel of three test group participants will share their trials and tribulations as they worked their way through the plan. Panelists include Tonya Hamilton from Prudential Woodmont Realty, Bob Carbonell from Relocation Management Resources and Ronald Huiskamp from Dwellworks, LLC.

At this time, we’d like to extend a big thank you to everyone who dedicated their time to this social media experiment. For conference attendees interested in receiving a copy of the 13 week plan, share your feedback from the session in the comment section below. If you do, we’ll be sure to email you the plan so you can learn how to increase your digital footprint and personal brand as well.

I really enjoyed the session today, and I am happy to say that I seem to be doing all the right things. Thank you for the mention today of my Houston Relocation Blog (www.HoustonRelocationBlog.com), and catagorizing it as a widely followed blog within our industry. I look forward to hearing more from you guys in the future and hope that we will have opportunities to collaborate.

John Sable was fantastic, as was his team – this finally put some doable “action steps” to the social media pool that too many of us fumble around in. Great job.

Thanks for the great presentation at this week’s Worldwide ERC conference. I really appreciate the efforts by your committee to take us beyond “Social Media 1.0″. I would appreciate a copy of the 12-week plan.

It was an interesting and thought-provoking presentation. I would like to see a copy of the 12 Week Plan at your earliest opportunity. Our company,HighStreet Accommodations,is recognized as a leader in the corporate housing industry in Vancouver, BC, but I’m thinking we need to get busy and take action here.

I really enjoyed this presentation. It was one of the better sessions I attended in Seattle. I would appreciate a copy of the 12 week plan.

Heard positive feedback about this session – sorry I missed it. I would be interested to hear whether there has been any research into the correlation of improving page rankings and online image management with increased sales etc. I am also curious about the plan the other commenters have referred to – is this something you could send me too. Thanks!

Thanks for a well-planned session! Sharing the quantitative results of the 3-month experiment by way of introduction was a great way to kick off the session. I greatly appreciated the panelists’ candidness regarding the challenges and outcomes of following the social media plan and am looking forward to implementing the 12-step plan myself. Thanks to all!

It’s great to hear your feedback and we hope you all left the conference with a better understanding of how to increase your digital footprint through social media! I have emailed those of you interested a copy of our plan, so be on the lookout for that. Thanks again for taking the time to comment on our session!

I was fortunate enough to attend the Active Website session at ERC last week and am in the process of implementing an online presence for my Company and Relocation and Client Services Department.

As a panelist of this John Sable / Active Website event, I was fortunate to be part of this ERC event. In retrospect and as a business owner, I would say that virtually any sized relocation services or real estate company would greatly benefit from paying close attention to the insights offered by John Sable. The web is a strange and wonderful place when it is doing your bidding; by following Active Web Site’s outline of actions you can protect your company and enhance your ability to market via the web. Thanks also to John D’Ambrogio for his many insights and comments throughout this process.

There were many great sessions at the Worldwide ERC conference in Seattle last week, but yours provided an ideal kick off. It provided practical advice in an unbiased format. Numbers count when trying to implement a “new” program, and you provided those with your test group and control group.

I, too, would like a copy of your 12 week plan. Like Pallavi, though, I would also like to know what comes “next” after hitting page one of Google. Have the direct sales benefits of reaching that goal been measured?
