One of the great things about being involved in social networking is that each venue that you choose to participate in can be used to promote each other. Basically every profile or page that you have will allow you to ad links to your other profiles and upload an RSS feed to your blog. Directing traffic to your blog and your website is a great way to feed visitors to your website as well.
I read a great blog that featured “9 Ways to Use Social Networking for Blog Promotion” and thought I would share with you the best of the 9 suggestions. If you want to read the original post click here.
Top 3 ways to promote your blog using social networking:
- Twitter- Post a catchy 140 character tweet with a link to your new article. Be SEO smart and use top keywords from your article in that tweet. For example: The number of homes sold in June for Dallas are up! Is the local housing market making a comeback? (98 Characters)
- Facebook- Your Facebook page has an RSS feed that updates whenever you post a new blog. Also, your fans will receive notification on their homepage of your updates.
- Digg- Since most people don’t recommend self promotion on Digg an alternative solution is to include a Digg submission button or badge (available to Enterprise Clients) to your articles and then have someone in the office Digg the article for you. Then again, you could always self promote and directly post the articles on Digg yourself.
