Over the past few years more Internet traffic is flowing towards nationally oriented, consumer-centric websites. There are thousands of quality websites that are agent, broker or franchise owned and operated, the majority of which have relatively low traffic numbers. Exposure and the number of unique visitors has become the dominant driver in determining value and brand.

There are some major factors that are contributing to this influx of foreign property investors. International capital is on the rise, and it’s no secret, the American Dollar is declining in value. For example, the Euro is worth about 50% more than the American dollar, meaning international buyers are basically getting a 50% discount when they invest in North American properties. (more…)

One of the trends we are seeing is the mashup of content from multiple sources creating an integrated and seamless experience. The web user today expects more than just information. And when it comes to a search for real estate, people want to know more than just the price, location and number or bedrooms– they want their search to be visually stimulating and consider their lifestyle as well. We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again. Blogging is big. And it’s key to marketing your business. At Real Estate Tomato, from a list of 40 things about Teresa Boardman’s blog, the top two are:
1. My blog is my business, or my business is my blog.
2. My blog is my number one and most valuable business asset, and prospecting tool.
